In August we had guests from Hungary.
Judit and Laci dropped in at our place, to meet our dogs. They took a lot of pictures. But now I found time to edit them. Thanks a lot for these beautiful pictures.A choice of the best pictures

AGILITY-TOURNAMENT AT THE PFOTENFLITZER IN HOHENWART
It was the closing of the agility-seaon. !
First I was angry about having left my video-camera at home and the I had 2 x dis with Icy :-(((
Icy would have made it without mistake but in the middle of the parcours I had a blackout. Suddenly I had no idea what I is the next obstacle and I sent Icy over the wrong hurdle.
The A-run took place in the afternoon because the slippery contact obstacles were wet in the morning. Judge Martin Sutter wanted to avoid injuries.
In the A-run Icy jumped a hurdle from the wrong side and so we got a dis. After that Icy ran with full speed up the dog walk, which was dry in the meantime but still slippery. She lost her hold and fell sideways to the ground. Thank God that she didn't get injured..
Renovating the surface of the contact obstacles up to springtime surely wouldn't be a luxury.

AGILITY-TOURNAMENT AT SV OG Hofstetten
The parcours were from judge Fritz Heusmann.
Our sweetie Icy was perfect again. Both runs were clear rounds.
A-run 1. place of 17
Jumping Open 3. place of 52
I started with Merlin too, but we had 2 x dis.
To be successful after his injury last year, I'd have to practice much more.
But I don't want to do it because it's more important to me that he doesn't lame again. That's why we decided that he won't start any more at tournaments. With Gina I won't start any more for the same reason.
Actually I would need a new dog for Agi now ....... ;-))

Die Parcours were from judge-expectant Dieter Melzner.
I started only with Icy and we were at last successful again. Both runs were clear rounds.

AUGUST 2011
In August we were at two tournaments: Augsburg and Dachau, but only moderate successful. In Augsburg Icy had a clear run in the jumping 3, but got only place 10. We also had some dis.
Otherwise we were did a lot short trips and as soon as the weather was fine we were swimming with the
dogs at lake
Brombachsee..................... and had no time for the homepage.
In Dachau Merlin fell in love with a nice Aussie-bitch :-))

AGILITY-TURNIER AT HSV NÜRNBERG NORD-WEST
Judge was Udo Nienkemper, his parcours have always a lot of tricky parts..
The A3-run was without mistakes and I reached with Icy place 3 of 26.
whereas at the Jumping 3 we had a dis.
In spite of the coldness on this day we had a lot of fun, because several teams of our dogs- club took part at the tournament even rare participants as the "Fischer-family".

Judge was Rene Blanc.
The A-run was without mistake, but because of the severe competition we got only the unpopular
4. place of 26 starters
At the Jumping 3 we had a refusal of the hurdle before last.

5 x HD - A
Good news from Merlin's offspring of the last two litters.
5 bitches were x-rayed. Hip scores:
• Quirae of blue light with magic eyes HD A
• Quell of Nim with magic eyes HD A
• Quickstep Curly Sue with magic eyes HD A
• Gretta Grain Hafkins HD A + ED A
• Ginger Geeree Hafkins "Gina" HD A
Only one of "Gina's" hips could be classified ( HD A ).
The other hip was damaged by the accident, when Gina was overrun
by a tractor. We hope she'll get the permit for breeding nevertheless.

AGILITY-TOURNAMENT AT SV OG BURGHEIM
Today we had both: Dis and 1. place
The A-run of judge Inge Haas was not actually difficult. From the A-frame directly to the tunnel. Icy perhaps thought, this is too easy and ran to the remote entry of the tunnel. That was it. Dis !!!
At the jumping we did it well 1. place (clear round)

Our boy turned 8 today.
.........and on this day he could do what he loves most:
Agility with his friends of the dogs-club Baika, Bailley, Nike, Scotty and Kate. Of course also Gina and Icy were of the party.

AGILITY-TOURNAMENT IN BÜHLERTAL
Heavy rain and storm and 4 x dis. That 's the resume of the this year's tournament in Bühlertal.
Judge Dieter Heinrich arranged very tricky parcours. The result was, that at the A-run as well as at the jumping 3 in each case only 3 teams got through, and they had parcours-mistakes or time-mistakes. The rest got disqualified.
Thus we belonged to the majority. ;-))

AGILITY-TOURNAMENT AT SV OG HEILSBRONN
Judje Ernst Schauwecker arranged good, but partly tricky parcours.
There was a severe competition so Icy had to get up steam but she showed what she can. Good girl !!!

KREISAUSSCHEIDUNG AGILITY 2011
The KA took place at the Hundezentrum Zirndorf this year.
Icy was brilliant today
A-run Result: 1. place (clear round)
Jumping 3 Result: 6. place (1 mistake)
Complete place for Icy: 1. place and therefore
got Icy Kreismeister A3 of Kreisgruppe II
Afterwards a 3. run was held , a jumping open for all classes together A1, A2 and A3
Icy was unbeatable again:
Jumping Open Result: 1. place (clear round)
Also Merlin was today of the party
Results: A-run: 4. place (1 mistake)
Jumping 3 : 5.place (1 mistake)
Jumping Open: 20. place (2 mistakes)

AGILITY-SEMINAR
At our dogs-club Hundefreunde Weissenburg in this year we had again a seminar with Esther Ammon. Icy was with me, she did everything fine, only me was sometines standing at the wrong place, gave the commands too early, too late or sometimes not at all or just didn't trust in the dog.
But I got a lot of tips from Esther optimice my ways..
Whereas I was snoozing during the pauses, Icy was always watching what was going on as you can se in the picture *g*
That is why she was very crocky on Sunday evening.

HERDING THE CAT
At the moment Merlin and Icy have a lot of fun herding Mona. Doing this they make a good team. They are always standing aterally staggered and if the cat tries to brush past at the first, the second dog behind blocks her. If Mona thinks that it is enough now, she shows the dogs her claws.
Then they are very, very careful, because they won't risk a bloody nose.

AGILITY-TOURNAMENT AT SV OG HOFSTETTEN
As Hofstetten is not far away from Weißenburg, our dogsclub was representde with 6 starters, so it was thrilling the whole day, but also very funny day.
Icy had two great runs today.
At the A-run she missed the 1. place for 4 /100 seconds Result: 2. place (clear round)
At the Jumping 3 nobody was faster any more ;-)) Result: 1. place (clear round)
Complete place for Icy: 1. place
Merlin was allowed to start today the first time after a long break because of an injury.
The A-run began perfectly, however he jumped the contact zones of the A-frame nearly at the end of the parcours and would have needed a change at the last hurdle. I thought it's not necessary but Merlin simply needs more presence.
Result: A-run 4. place (2 faults) Jumping 3 : dis.

I ALLOWED ME A TIMEOUT
A timeout of the internet.
It also didn't happen a lot during the last two month. In any case nothing concerning the dogs.
After our holydays in March we had a lot of work in the garden. The large pond had to be cleaned urgently after 13 years. It was completely overgrown. We removed more than 6 cubic meter plants and mud with the wheelbarrow. Now the dogs can swim in it again in summer.
With Icy I was at two tournaments, but not very successful.

GINGER GEEREE HAFKINS "GINA"
From Pavla the breeder of "Gina" I got new pictures. Gina is a daughter of Merlin (litter 6)
When Gina was a puppy she had already the brown colour shade in her blue-merle coat. In course of time the brown colour got more intense. So Pavla had changed the colour in the pedigree to sable-merle
Gina remained at its breeder and originally it was planned to breed with her because of the particular colour, but unfortunately Gina had an accident when she was 9 month old. She was overrun by a tractor and got a multiple pelvic fracture. At the moment it is in the air, if she will have puppies one day.

Our A-run was very clumsy with a lot of loss of time: 4. place (clear round)
The jumping 3 was better for running, this run also without mistake: 7. place

AGILITY-TOURNAMENT AT HSV ALTMÜHLHOPSER
Das tournament was held in Parsberg , the A3 had to register not before lunchhour, when the A1 had already finished. Very grateful with this low temperature! Judge was Alexander Drahonowsky
In the A-run Icy weaved out two times at the weave poles and had to start again : 18. place
in the Jumping 3 dropped a bar: 9. place

BUSSI HAS A PARTNER NOW
Suddenly a second, a little smaller and darker buzzard appeared at our feeding ground. Our "Bussi" spread his wings round the food, in order that the other one couldn't pick anything of it.
Later on we could see the two buzzards sitting close together on a tree.
In the meantime the two are going well with each other. They take turns at the food.
First feeds the big one and then the small one and so on.....

WE ARE SNOWBOUND AGAIN
This time it is a heavy wet snow. Merlin had the most problems with it. On our walk thick snowballs grew round the long hairs at his legs. He nearly couldn't walk any more.
Round Gina' s dog tag grew a big snowball, it looked very funny.

ICY AND MIRA
Icy's playmate Mira turned 8 month now and in the meantime she is much taller than Icy. But she still gets thrown down by Icy and give Icy the feeling being the more powerful dog. Icy enjoys it.

26.12.2010 CHRISTMAS 2010
Merlin got a coat , because he simply stays outside in the garden also at the actual cold.
From the outset he had no problems even to run fast with this coat.
Quite different Icy:
She got an agility seminar as a Christmas present. It was held on Boxing Day at the HSV Altmühlhopser in an indoor riding arena near Beilngries. As the temperatures on this day were - 14 degree celsius, Icy got put on Merlin's coat without further ado.
Icy nearly died. Absolutely impossible to move with this awful dress, lying and sitting is also imposssible.
She can just stand stiff and look at me rebukefully.
But when she came into the riding arena and saw all the other dogs jumping and doing agility she had only eyes for them. After some time she had forgotten to be dressed.
